We have a new feature here at Image Angels: Gift Cards! These are just like the cards in the stores, with a programmable magnetic strip on the back. You can purchase a Gift Card in any amount, and the recipient can use it for anything we do.

You might know a couple who is getting married, your Gift Card can go towards professional photography at their wedding. You might know a couple who is pregnant, we do awesome fine art maternity photography here in our studio, and it’s a fun time too! Patrick and Chantell got married a while back (last January to be exact!) but Patrick just recently ordered a bunch of photos as a birthday present for Chantell(thank you Patrick!) and seeing the images again reminded me of how fun a winter wedding can be. I’m looking forward to seeing some snow again!

It’s always beautiful at Lake Tahoe no matter what the weather. You can see a storm front approaching in the background of this photo, as well as the snow on the mountains.

Because it was a bit windy, we found a place back in the trees where there was shelter from the wind to do some photos.

They had their parents with them, who thoughtfully brought along some bird seed! I think this photo says it all about the joy of Patrick and Chantell on their wedding day!

Meet the Dickey Family

I grew up in Zephyr Cove, and still get to spend a lot of time there. We keep our family boat there, I walk my dog there, and I get to do a lot of weddings and family portraits there too! It’s the all around awesome place! Recently I got to meet the Dickey family and do their family portrait at Zephyr Cove and it was, as usual, quite beautiful!

This is Ed and Bunny, the family portrait was done in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary! Congratulations Ed and Bunny! A 50th wedding anniversary is quite the milestone and you look awesome!

Cyndi and Walt’s wedding

I don’t get to go out of town to do a wedding very often, but I love it when I do! Cyndi and Walt got married in Modesto, California. Now, on first thought one might wonder what on earth Central California farm country has going for it. But I can tell you, it was quite beautiful! They held their reception at their aunt and uncle’s orchard. I’ve never been to real live orchard before and I was looking forward to it! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it far surpassed my expectations.

Now, I can tell you that the orchard was not flooded! However, I got to playing with this image this morning and realized I really wanted a flood so, viola!

One of the other things I really liked about all those back country roads was the lack of traffic. It’s not often that I can stand in the middle of a road, and have my bride and groom stand in the middle of a road, and not risk life and limb! So of course I had to take advantage of it!

And last but not least, we had a glorious full moon that night! It was absolutely beautiful!

Kim and Keith, married at Edgewood

Every once in a while a very special wedding couple comes along and Kim and Keith were one of those for me. From the initial meeting, to the engagement session, the entire day of the wedding, and through the process of designing the album afterwards, this couple has been a joy to work with.

The Jones Family Portrait

There are two family portrait seasons during the year for us here at Image Angels Photography. One, of course, is happening right now. Families are having their portraits done now, these family heirlooms will provide them with memories to last a lifetime. And a bonus of having portraits done now is that they can order gift portraits to give as holiday presents, and also have holiday cards made up!

The other season for family portraits happens during the summer months. The weather is great, the scenery provides the perfect backdrop for folks meeting in Tahoe for their family reunions.

I have the pleasure of meeting many of these families every year and this summer was no different. One of these families was the Jones Family. I met them at the Presbyterian Conference Center, one of my all time favorite places for photos. We had a beautiful day and fun time!

Hi all! Whew! It’s been a busy few months, but I think, at last, things are settling down to a dull roar! :) Here is the November calendar image and quote to get us started right for Gratitude month. I created this image at Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley. Lately it seems as if I’ve been getting into trouble for going places I shouldn’t be going! HAH! I’ve always gone places I shouldn’t be going in search of just the right angle for a photo, but lately it seems I’ve been getting caught! Remind me to tell you about the helicopter! Anyway, I went past a “do not enter” sign to get this shot. Sorry, but it was irresistible!

Holidays are time for families

I’m back after along absence and hope to be more regular now! I will be posting soon with stories and photos of what I’ve been doing lately! Lots of fun and memories! We’ve done more senior portraits than ever this year, and a bunch of weddings; I’ve also been doing some traveling! One of the places I went to was Nebraska, for a marketing conference. While there, I put together my marketing plans for the entire next year. First on the list is families. The holidays are the time when families congregate, and it’s a perfect time to have your portrait made. I’m offering a special, if you reserve your appointment before November 4, I’ll give you $50 off the session fee! Call me now and beat the rush! I can’t believe it’s been a whole month since I posted! Wow! All I can say is that I’ve been a bit behind with deliveries to clients, and honestly have not felt right about posting to the blog when I have orders to get out. But I am caught up now, so here’s the scoop on the image for September!

I’ve always been inspired by Georgia O’keefe’s work, so when I saw the cornices on one of the buildings at Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. So, here it is, the image on the calendar for September:

August Calendar Image

Those who’ve known me for a while know that every year I publish a calendar. The calendar usually goes on sale around Thanksgiving time and is very popular! Every year I get more and more folks who call ahead of time to reserve a calendar. The images in the calendar consist of photos that I have taken in my travels the previous year.

The image for this month was taken on a hike up to Winnemucca Lake. This is an awesome hike, fairly easy, 2 1/2 miles from the Carson Pass trailhead to the lake. The wildflowers on this hike are incredible if you time it right. Luckily I have a network of friends and when the wildflowers hit peak I hear about it through the ever faithful Lake Tahoe grapevine!

Also each month in the calendar I have a different quote. I collect these quotes throughout the year and then use them in the calendar.
