Javi and Moriah

Javi and Moriah were a great fun loving couple!   Mother Nature cooperated fully on their wedding day by providing them with the perfect weather for them:  fog.  We rarely get fog in Lake Tahoe, but Javi and Moriah loved it!  Thanks  you guys for letting me get to know you!

A good lesson for both brides and photographers

Here’s a video that serves as a very good lesson for both brides and photographers. It’s a good lesson for brides:  don’t hire the cheapest photographer you can find, chances are you’ll get what you pay for.  And while no true professional would shoot with an amateur level camera such as a Rebel, I know that there are folks out there who do use amateur equipment, and who call themselves pros.  This lady didn’t know what speed her lens was, nor did she do the appropriate research to find out what she would need to do to cover the ceremony properly.  I think the Judge’s ruling was very fair.

Sarah and Jeff

Sarah and Jeff met on Valentine’s Day in 2008.  Jeff was hoping to recruit Sarah into the Navy, but Sarah took one look at Jeff and decided she wanted much more!  She called him after the “recruitment meeting” and asked him if he wanted a running buddy.  One year later they were engaged.  They got married in January of 2010 at Edgewood.  It was a beautiful winter’s day, perfect for getting some outdoor photos in the snow!

This is the wedding album I designed for them:

Business Promotional Shots

Lately I’ve been getting a lot of requests for what are called “head shots” for promotion for people’s businesses.  These days the temptation is to try and scrimp and save on marketing, advertising and promotion; I can tell you what all the experts say:  that is the wrong thing to do.   Don’t cheapen your business by using a snapshot made by an amateur.  Think about when you look at another company’s web site or brochures. If their images are poorly made, doesn’t that give you the impression that their service or product will also be poorly made?  I know that’s the impression that I get.  It doesn’t cost that much to get a good image, and you’ll be able to use them everywhere for several years.   I’m offering a special on business promotion shots, it includes a mini session in the studio, plus your choice of one image, completely retouched and made into both color and black and white versions for both print and web.  In addition, I’ll upload the image to Facebook for you to use as your avatar.  Call me today to schedule your appointment!   Here’s some samples:

Lauren and Matt

It was meant to be for Lauren and Matt, because in spite of showing up at two different restaurants to meet on their first date, they still managed to meet!  A year and a half later they celebrated their commitment to one another with a wedding at a friend’s house in South Lake Tahoe.  During their courtship Matt introduced Lauren to the joys of camping, and he proposed to her less than a year after they started dating, on a camping trip.  Poor Matt, bless his heart:  he took a ring from Lauren’s jewelry box to get the proper size for the engagement ring, only he took a thumb ring!  So, needless to say, the engagement ring had to be resized, and Lauren loved him all the more for the effort.
