Deerfield Lodge and Ski Run Marina make for a great wedding!

Franck and Nicole eloped to Lake Tahoe recently, and I got to join in on the fun!  They began with a quick small ceremony in the garden at the Deerfield Lodge.  If you’ve never checked out the Deerfield, I can tell you it’s a great place.  Hosts Robin and Eric have created a wonderful get-a-way featuring a pet friendly, green boutique resort, conveniently located on Ski Run Blvd in South Lake Tahoe.

After the ceremony was over, we headed a half mile down the street to the Ski Run Marina and Riva Grill for some more photos with the lake in the background.

Franck and Nicole made a very cute couple and it was a pleasure to work with them!

Congratulations to Ashlee and Ryan at Edgewood Tahoe!

Ashlee and Ryan came to me almost a full year before their wedding, along with some of their family, and from the beginning it was a joy and a pleasure to get to know them.   Anyone who takes their cat traveling with them is OK in my book!  We began with an engagement session several months before the wedding, and they decided they wanted to go up to the top of the Gondola at Heavenly for their engagement photos.  You can see some of the photos from the engagement session here.

Then came the day of the wedding.  They got married at Edgewood Tahoe, which is one of the best places for weddings in Lake Tahoe.  The day was beautiful and it was awesome to see everyone again!  You can see some of the photos from the wedding here.

Once the wedding was completed it was time to build the album.  This was a collaborative effort between Ashlee and me, and I had a ball with this album!

Congratulations once again to Ashlee and Ryan!

Busy busy busy with Family Portraits at this time of year!

I love doing family portraits, and when November rolls around things kick into high gear with families wanting to get their portraits done.   Most of my families have me make Christmas cards for them using one or more of the images created at the session, and all of them order multiple prints for gifts.

Sometimes we go in the studio, and sometimes we do an environmental portrait outdoors.  Either way it is a fun time for the family, and also a fun time for me!

Amy called and said she wanted to have a family portrait done, and after discussing what kind of look she wanted, we decided to do the session in the studio.  We had a great time trying different poses  and when they came back in the studio to view the projected proofs, they selected 5 images for retouching and printing into photographs for gifts for the holidays.

These three are my favorites…I especially like the big family group, with Dad Scott holding the toy!
