Image Angels Blog!

Every year I make a calendar with 13 different images that I created during my travels the previous year.  This calendar is quite popular; clients start calling in October to make sure they get their order in for theirs, and my family always wants to make sure I am making another calendar and that they are getting one as a Christmas present. 

When I make these calendars I select a different image each month, and a quote to go along with it.  I collect the quotes throughout the year; they get emailed to me from various sources and I save them in a folder.

This is the image for July:

  This image was created at Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley.  Some of you know that I take a little retreat every spring and go to Death Valley and soak up the warmth after the long winter of snow, and take photos of all the sites there.  I love it in the spring in Death Valley!

The quote for July is from St. Francis de Sales, who was a Roman Catholic saint who lived from August of 1567 to December of 1622.  He is known for his spiritual writings, according to Wikipedia.  I’ve never read any of them, but I really liked this quote:

“Half an hour’s meditation each day is essential, except when you are busy.  Then a full hour is needed.”

When I saw Gina and Scott on the day of their wedding, they were together, in the bathroom of their rental home, getting ready for their wedding.  That was when I knew we were going to have a fun time!  Gina and Scott have known each other for four years and decided to get married in Lake Tahoe at the Inn at Heavenly.  They rented a  home behind the lodge that had a beautiful landscaped back yard which was the perfect location for their wedding!

  About 65 guests attended their wedding, which was catered by Chevy’s Restaurant, yummy!

Carla and Dan wanted a nice quiet little wedding in Lake Tahoe, so they grabbed their friends Marilyn and Bob, and took off on their motorcycles all the way from Washington State to get married on a bluff overlooking the lake.  It was a beautiful spring day in Tahoe on the day they chose for their wedding.

Congratulations Carla and Dan!  I really enjoyed meeting you and admire your spirit!

About a week ago my entire web site, including the blog, went down for a couple of days due to something going very wrong with the server that hosts my web site.  To make a very long story short, I decided to change servers to prevent this from happening again.  My web site is now hosted by a new server and I am happy to say that there should never any longer be any troubles with the web site being inaccessible!  However, the old blog did not transfer over with the rest of the site!  While I still have all the photos that I posted on the old blog, gone are the stories and all the comments.  I’ve tried everything I can think of to retrieve them, but nothing is working.  So, rather than have an inactive blog while trying to retrieve the old one, I’ve decided to start all over again.  I will be posting new stories, new features, new news about specials, just like I did before.  If you would like to see an old blog story resurrected, contact me and I will do my best to recreate it.
