It was a pleasure to photograph Lani and Ken’s wedding, especially since Lani and I share a common love of horses and know a lot of the same people…and horses! They booked me for their wedding about a year in advance, which gave us plenty of time to do their engagement session.
The day of their wedding dawned with great weather: clouds! Clouds are actually much better for outdoor photography. They create a very flattering light and add drama to the photos. Lani and Ken had some wonderful things planned for their wedding: Ken made his grand entrance via paddle board. They also wanted their dogs included in the wedding. I began my day with them with Lani and her bridesmaids in the bride’s room at Zephyr Cove Resort while my second shooter Johnny worked with the guys at the wedding site. Having two photographers for a wedding like this is a must!
The wedding began with Ken dashing off to the pier to begin his journey on the paddle board, and Lani making her way from the bride’s room at the lodge to the beach.
The portraits turned out wonderfully with a great backdrop like this!
And last but not least, some of the reception highlights:
No wedding on the beach at Lake Tahoe would be complete without sunset shots. We had a beautiful sunset that night!
